Sunday Morning Funnies: Five hundred slaps ago

[hide][/hide]
[hide]Sunday Morning Funnies[/hide] is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics.

Now, I know that several of everyone’s favorite comics have been inconsistent or absent lately, so I thought I’d share some links to the artists’ explanations.

[hide]Fourth Wall[/hide]

[hide]Slash AFK[/hide]

[hide]Daily Quests[/hide]

[hide]WoW, eh[/hide]?

Also, Silkspinner of Complex Actions has hand issues, and Torment of the Week has been stalled due to health and wedding preparations. Unfortunately, no one makes these comics for a living; it’s all extracurricular. I’d like to thank all of the artists for doing what they do. Thank you!

That said, the list is still thriving, and we’re always ready to take referrals to more comics. Forward, ho![hide]Continue reading Sunday Morning Funnies: Five hundred slaps ago[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Analysis / Opinion[/hide], [hide]Humor[/hide], [hide]Comics[/hide], [hide]Sunday Morning Funnies[/hide][hide]Sunday Morning Funnies: Five hundred slaps ago[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Sun, 09 Oct 2011 14:00:00 EST. Know Your Lore: The Shattering, part 1

[hide][/hide]
The World of Warcraft is an expansive universe. You’re playing the game, you’re fighting the bosses, you know the how — but do you know the why? Each week, [hide]Matthew Rossi [/hide]and [hide]Anne Stickney[/hide] make sure you [hide]Know Your Lore[/hide] by covering the history of the story behind World of Warcraft.

On Nov. 22, 2010, millions of players logged in to World of Warcraft to view [hide]the old world [/hide]one final time. Whether venturing to out-of-the-way spots, running around the park in Stormwind, or saying goodbye to Magni Bronzebeard and Cairne Bloodhoof, every player was well aware that the next day, these locations and people would no longer exist. As for me, my guild leader took those of us who wished to go on a romp around the hidden places in Azeroth that many had never before seen and would never see again.

On Nov. 23, players logged on to find an entirely different, harsher world waiting for them. Orgrimmar was transformed into a bristling fortress of iron and steel. Stormwind’s faade was forever marred by the charred claw marks of Deathwing, and the lovely park nestled in the corner of the mighty city had been torched and fallen away into the sea below. In Ironforge, the city was now ruled by a council of three; in Orgrimmar, a new Warchief sat on the throne. In Thunder Bluff, Baine Bloodhoof now stood in the place of honor once reserved for his father Cairne.

For those who read the novel The Shattering by Christie Golden, all these events made perfect sense. For those who hadn’t picked up the book, the resounding question asked was a simple «What happened?»

Today’s Know Your Lore contains pretty much every possible spoiler that exists for the novel The Shattering by Christie Golden. If you’ve been putting off picking up the book and giving it a read and would like to remain unspoiled, I would highly suggest turning away now. The Light and How to Swing It: The AOE heal we deserve

[hide][/hide]
Every week, WoW Insider brings you [hide]The Light and How to Swing It[/hide] for [hide]holy[/hide], [hide]protection[/hide] and [hide]retribution[/hide] paladins. Every Sunday, [hide]Chase Christian[/hide] invites you to discuss the finer side of the paladin class: the holy specialization. Feel free to [hide]email me[/hide] with any questions you want answered, like why paladins are so awesome.

From launch until Cataclysm, holy paladins survived on just a handful of heals. We traded healing complexity for unique utility, gaining [hide]Aura Mastery[/hide] instead of [hide]Wild Growth[/hide] or using [hide]Hand of Freedom[/hide] instead of [hide]Prayer of Mending[/hide]. Holy paladin healing was so simple for so many years, as we tended to gravitate toward a [hide]single spell[/hide] like Flash of Light or Holy Light in each expansion. While any other healing class could have complained that their class had become stagnant, holy paladins had literally been playing the same game of whack-a-mole for years.

Cataclysm’s massive retooling of paladins and introduction of the [hide]three-heal model[/hide] helped breathe new life into playing holy. Holy power gave us a unique mechanic to manage and gave us additional choices to make when healing. The three-heal model ensures that we’re forced to choose between throughput and efficiency, and now we’re challenged with managing our mana as well as our healing. Even though these changes drastically shifted the way we play our paladins, we were still relying on the same single-target heals we had always been. [hide]Healing Hands[/hide], now known as [hide]Holy Radiance[/hide], was the spell designed to upset the status quo.[hide]Continue reading The Light and How to Swing It: The AOE heal we deserve[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Paladin[/hide], [hide](Paladin) The Light and How to Swing It[/hide][hide]The Light and How to Swing It: The AOE heal we deserve[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Sun, 09 Oct 2011 18:00:00 EST. All the World’s a Stage: Plot points for Blood Knights

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. In World of Warcraft, that player is you! Each week, [hide]Anne Stickney[/hide] brings you [hide]All the World’s a Stage[/hide] with helpful hints, tips and tricks on the art of roleplay in WoW.

Many roleplay guilds run with a theme of some sort, whether it’s a group of heroes all thrown together with a specific cause, a family or noble house, or even a rag-tag group of mercenaries. Those aren’t the only themes available to play, however. World of Warcraft has several different organizations established in lore, and some players choose to place their characters in those organizations. It’s a good way to root the character in the existing lore, but it’s also an excellent way to help define the character you’re playing. Due to popular request, over the next few weeks I’ll be addressing some of Azeroth’s major organizations and taking a closer look at each.

The Blood Knights of Silvermoon are a relatively new organization by Azeroth’s standards, formed for one purpose and now practicing another. Though it could be stated that their story began and ended in The Burning Crusade, that’s not exactly true. There are plenty of plot threads left hanging that Blood Knights can play with.[hide]Continue reading All the World’s a Stage: Plot points for Blood Knights[/hide]Filed under: [hide]All the World’s a Stage (Roleplaying)[/hide][hide]All the World’s a Stage: Plot points for Blood Knights[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Sun, 09 Oct 2011 22:00:00 EST.

MMORPG World of Warcraft: Cataclylsm

— необработанные «uncommon», «rare» и «meta»-камни больше нельзя продать вендору;

— обработка камней «uncommon»-качества увеличивает их стоимость при продаже вендору, а выставить их на аукцион также будет стоить дороже;

WRUP: Come on, man, it’s the nineties

Going to BlizzCon? No? Why not? It’s the nineties! Everyone’s going to conventions these days!

Sure, it’s in Southern California, and for many of you, that’s a long way from home. But man, this is the nineties. They have planes now. And some of those planes even have air phones. You can hook up your 14.4k modem to one of those and connect to your favorite Warcraft 2 BBS. Maybe play a little Legend of the Red Dragon from 20,000 feet. Why not? It’s the nineties!

What’s that? You say it’s not the nineties — it’s 2011? Well, of course it is! I know exactly what today is. See this Casio digital watch on my wrist? It has the day, week, month, and year on it. Everyone’s got one — everyone, that is, who’s living in the nineties.

BlizzCon, the hottest event of the nineties, is coming up in a mere two weeks. So today, in addition to the usual question of «What are you Playing?» (Super Nintendo and Scattergories, obvi), I had our top-notch writers (many of whom have Tripod pages) answer a bonus question: «What terrific advice do you have for the go-go BlizzCon attending folks of the nineties?»[hide]Continue reading WRUP: Come on, man, it’s the nineties[/hide]Filed under: [hide]WoW Insider Business[/hide][hide]WRUP: Come on, man, it’s the nineties[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 07 Oct 2011 21:00:00 EST.

MMORPG World of Warcraft, [hide]сообщает[/hide] компания Blizzard Entertainment.
