WRUP: This week, in cat-related news

Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, «What are you playing this week?» — otherwise known as [hide]WRUP[/hide]. Join us to see what we’re up to in and out of game, and catch us in the comments to let us know what you’re playing, too!

Welcome to this week’s What aRe yoU Playing, brought to you by Catertainment! And you’re in for quite a treat — today’s column is the cat’s meow!

Item! What has got those cool cats drawn to the Firelands like it was filled with catnip? Why, I’d be willing to bet it’s [hide]Fandral’s Flamescythe[/hide], the hot new Firelands weapon that turns kitty druids into flaming kitty druids! Those pesky hunters may want to get their paws on it, but giving it to them — why, that’d be a cat-astrophe!

Item! What WoW Insider cat lover just had his favority pussy groomed? Why, it’s Mat McCurley, who reports his cat’s hot new «do» is purrfect!

That’s all our items for today, but don’t you all go taking a cat nap, now! We’ve still got WRUPing to do! This week’s bonus question: «When do you expect patch 4.3 to come out, and what kind of raid or 5-man instance do you expect it to have?»[hide]Continue reading WRUP: This week, in cat-related news[/hide]Filed under: [hide]WoW Insider Business[/hide][hide]WRUP: This week, in cat-related news[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 29 Jul 2011 19:00:00 EST. Raid Rx: The value of the all-purpose healer

Every week, [hide]Raid Rx[/hide] will help you quarterback your healers to victory! Your host is [hide]Matt Low[/hide], the grand poohbah of [hide]World of Matticus[/hide] and a founder of [hide]Plus Heal[/hide], a discussion community for healers of all experience levels and interests. Catch his weekly podcast on healing, raiding and leading, the [hide]Matticast[/hide].

When it comes to setting up healing in raids, we like to lump healers into different specializations. We have players who strictly tank heal or raid heal. In some cases, there is a specific role they need to play within the encounter (like [hide]kite healing[/hide]). Blizzard has done a great job of trying to equalize the healing classes to the point that they can do everything competently. Even then, we continue to instinctively place the different classes into specific healing roles. If you are a healer who has traditionally done only one type of healing, then it is time to diversify.[hide]Continue reading Raid Rx: The value of the all-purpose healer[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Analysis / Opinion[/hide], [hide]Raid Rx (Raid Healing)[/hide], [hide]Raid Guides[/hide][hide]Raid Rx: The value of the all-purpose healer[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 29 Jul 2011 19:00:00 EST. The Daily Quest: Dangerously addictive

WoW Insider’s on a [hide]Daily Quest[/hide] to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.

My first thought upon falling off the ledge in the Molten Front while doing dailies for the Druids of the Talon was, «Oh no, not again.» My second thought, a slightly less literary reference, was «Now how am I going to get my body back from this? Can I get my body back? Oh my God, I’m in mostly heroic T11 gear and some T12, how much is this spirit res going to cost me?» And then, it happened. A little bird showed up, snatched me from the jaws of death, gently chided me for not making the silly jump, and placed me gently on the ledge I’d been trying to reach.

Since then, I have joyfully leaped off that ledge every time I have to do those dailies — partially because I’m lazy, partially because I’m wondering if perhaps, one day, the Druids of the Talon will decide that my rampant stupidity warrants not saving me from certain destruction. It’s a sick addiction.

Speaking of addictions, today we’ve got a post about just that, as well as some other posts from around the blogosphere on a few other topics.

[hide]Manalicious[/hide] has a very serious problem that I share — a fierce [hide]addiction to achievements[/hide].

[hide]Priest With A Cause[/hide] shares some thoughts about those pesky [hide]Molten Front dailies[/hide].

[hide]Jinxed Thoughts[/hide] explores some ideas about the world-first heroic Ragnaros 25-man kill and [hide]why it worked[/hide].

[hide]Planet of the Hats[/hide] gives us a subtly humorous look at the subject of [hide]raiding fatigue[/hide].

Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment, and you may see it here tomorrow! Be sure to check out our [hide]WoW Resources Guide[/hide] for more WoW-related sites.

Король-лич убит соло рыцарем смерти Mione

Известный рыцарь смерти по имени Mione в одиночку убил главного босса дополнения Wrath of the Lich King в MMORPG World of Warcraft после выхода патча 4.2.

Around Azeroth: Swamp blood

[hide][/hide]
«In recent months I’ve been feeling jaded by WoW,» writes [hide]Selieca[/hide] of [hide]Night Watch[/hide] on Terenas (EU-A). «It’s too easy to lose interest, to find other shiny things to do. But then, when doing something as everyday as waiting for a boat, WoW suddenly smacks you in the face with a moment like this. The scenery around Wetlands absolutely blew me away! I’ve walked through that place for the last five years whilst leveling various gnomes, but for some reason never remember it having that little extra magic. Maybe it’s the surgical-instrument-pink sky?»

The Queue: I have a WoW question for you, readers

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior hops editor, will be your host today.

I’m turning the tables on you today. Let me ask you a question:

Know any good (or semi-good) Australian-time raiding guilds?

I’ve come to a point that it’s almost impossible for me to raid at night anymore (I think I signed the contract unknowingly when I proposed to the long-time girlfriend earlier this year), so a guild that raids down under would be perfect for me. I’ll buy you a few beers at our meetup if you leave me a suggestion that ends up working. And that’s LA-priced beers, too.

Jeremy asked:

Has anyone really speculated what will come in patch 4.3? Do you think blizzard will continue to release new heroics every other patch? WoW Moviewatch: Theory of a Death Knight Wants to be a Tuskarr

This is an odd video from [hide]Myndflame[/hide]. Essentially, [hide]Theory of a Death Knight[/hide] spells out at a news conference why he thinks tuskarr should be a playable race. As is customary for the poor death knight, he gets eaten by a dinosaur.

I’m not sure I completely agree with the logic proposed by Theory of a Death Knight, since I’m not sure hauling around a spare tire should be a virtue. But I definitely agree that the tuskarr should be playable, because having tusks on the Alliance side would be spectacular.

Interested in the wide world of [hide]machinima[/hide]? We have new movies every weekday here on [hide]WoW Moviewatch[/hide]! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at [hide]moviewatch@wowinsider.com[/hide].

The OverAchiever: The gold coins of the Dalaran fountain

Every Thursday, [hide]The Overachiever[/hide] shows you how to work toward those sweet achievement points. This week, we finally get the last damn coin.

In response to some questions from last week, yep — we’ll be heading for some Firelands achievements after this (and the conclusion of [hide]our Mountain O’ Mounts guide[/hide]), but I did want to finish our series on the Dalaran fountain first.

The gold coins are arguably the most interesting of the bunch, or at least they concern most of the more significant lore figures in the World of Warcraft universe. As before, getting all of the coins will grant you [hide]A Penny For Your Thoughts[/hide], [hide]Silver in the City[/hide], and [hide]There’s Gold in That There Fountain[/hide], with the completion of all three granting [hide]The Coin Master[/hide] and one more notch toward [hide]Accomplished Angler[/hide].

If you’re looking for our two previous installments concerning basic information on the achievements and full descriptions of the copper and silver coins, you’ll find those here:

World of WarCrafts: Lightly Fried Lurker

[hide]World of WarCrafts[/hide] spotlights art and creativity by WoW players, including fan art, cooking, comics, cosplay, music, fan fiction and more. Sample the whole spectrum on our [hide]Arts and Crafts in [/hide][hide]WoW[/hide] page.

Cataclysm brought about a whole host of world changes to Azeroth’s landscape, new talent trees to explore, and a ton of new quests and achievements. It also brought a whole ton of new recipes for aspiring Azerothian chefs and a bunch of new [hide]cooking achievements[/hide], to boot — achievements that involve a whole heck of a lot of recipes for fish, which is only appropriate since a ton of new [hide]fishing achievements[/hide] were added, too!

Some people love fish, some people hate it, and some chefs shy away from it, as it can be tricky to cook. But today’s recipe is one of the easiest dinner recipes out there. Not only is it simple, it’s delicious. This is actually a special recipe to me; it was my mother’s, and I have no idea where she got it from originally. But whenever my mother fried up fish, it disappeared in a flash; we kids could never get enough of it. Thankfully, the recipe was passed on to us, and now I am passing it on to all of you — deliciousness ought to be shared, after all. Let’s wander into the kitchen and make ourselves a fish dinner, shall we?
