Обманутым игрокам выдадут компенсацию в 4 000 очков чести

Компания Blizzard Entertainment [hide]планирует[/hide] компенсировать потери игроков MMORPG World of Warcraft: Cataclysm,

Blizzard to offer compensation for PVP season 10 transition woes

Yesterday we talked about an issue that had [hide]PVP players in an uproar[/hide]: Conquest points were accidentally down-converted to honor points a week early, with excess points converted to gold. And on top of that, Blizzard launched a new tier of ilevel 371 gear without warning, just after making ilevel 365 gear available for purchase with honor. Players that spent their points decking themselves out in the latest PVP armor found themselves abruptly faced with the stunning realization that had they saved their points, they could have had better gear. It was a mistake, and it was acknowledged by Zarhym in a fairly lengthy blue post, along with a mention that Blizzard was exploring some options to try and make it up to players.

Happily, it appears those options have been explored, as Bashiok posted today with a proposed solution for compensation: Players that were caught off-guard by the change will be provided with 4000 Honor Points, stacking over the cap. Players will not be able to accumulate more honor until spending below the 4000 cap, but that should give PVPers a chance to pick up that new gear. This will not be immediately implemented, as it seems Blizzard is still trying to figure out how, exactly, to determine who was affected by the sudden transition, and who was not — so don’t expect those 4000 points on your character tomorrow.

Still, it’s nice seeing Blizzard acknowledge something that was clearly a miscommunication in regards to the transition between seasons, and that they will be making sure those players caught in the middle of the fumble will be getting something back. Follow after the break for the full announcement from Bashiok.[hide]Continue reading Blizzard to offer compensation for PVP season 10 transition woes[/hide]Filed under: [hide]News items[/hide], [hide]PvP[/hide], [hide]Cataclysm[/hide][hide]Blizzard to offer compensation for PVP season 10 transition woes[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 22:53:00 EST. Patch 4.2 hotfixes for July 8

A weekend just doesn’t feel like a proper weekend without some hotfixes and tweaks to lead it in. Today, we’ve got a smallish list of new hotfixes for [hide]patch 4.2[/hide] from the official Warcraft blog. Most of these hotfixes address issues with the Firelands raid; however, there is one notable change that ought to have hunters breathing a sign of relief.

Combat pets should no longer aggro creatures while the player is mounted. Hunters, it’s safe to ride alongside your pet again. Fluffy will stop finding angry new friends to play with.

During the Rhyolith encounter, multiple volcanoes casting Eruption will now create separate stacks. Crushing a volcano will cause its stacks of Eruption to fade shortly after it’s crushed.

[hide]Riplimb’s Lost Collar[/hide] was apparently really, really lost. The item should now properly drop from select creatures.

The Daily Quest: Healing and you

WoW Insider’s on a [hide]Daily Quest[/hide] to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.

And now, it’s time for another round of Vanilla Nostalgia, courtesy of yours truly. When healing back in vanilla, «mana regen» was what you called chugging a potion. MP5? We had no idea what that was back then. Healers dragged along as many mana potions as they could stuff in their bags, and you could use as many as you wanted in a fight, although you were still limited by a 2-minute cooldown. However, you could use different kinds of potions while that first one was on its 2-minute cooldown. Enter Felwood, otherwise known as that rotten, misbegotten hole I spent I don’t know how many hours in farming stupid plants on off-nights.

The plants in Felwood were useful, particularly [hide]Night Dragon’s Breath[/hide]. It also had a 2-minute cooldown but returned a healthy chunk of mana — just enough, in fact, to get you to that next [hide]Major Mana Potion[/hide] once it was off cooldown. Farming the plants, however, was tricky. You had to get [hide]Cenarion Plant Salve[/hide], apply it to a [hide]Corrupted Night Dragon[/hide], and then take the cleansed plant. These plants spawned on a timer in a circuit around Felwood. Night Dragon’s Breath runs usually lasted three to four hours at a time, yielding enough plants for a week or so of raiding — if you were lucky.

Lesson over! Aren’t we glad we don’t have to muck about with plants anymore? Today, we’ve got some posts from around the blogosphere with all kinds of information on healing in patch 4.2.

[hide]Kurn’s Corner[/hide] discusses paladin healing in 4.2 and a gigantic [hide]lack of mana[/hide].

[hide]Totem Forest[/hide] picks apart the Eye of Blazing Power from a [hide]resto shaman perspective[/hide].

[hide]Foofy’s CupCake Factory[/hide] has put together a very nice video going over the basics of [hide]resto druid healing[/hide] in patch 4.2.

[hide]World of Matticus[/hide] has some tips for all healers headed into the [hide]Lord Rhyolith encounter[/hide].

Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment, and you may see it here tomorrow! Be sure to check out our [hide]WoW Resources Guide[/hide] for more WoW-related sites.

Phat Loot Phriday: Jaws of Defeat

The druid returned to consciousness slowly. He found he couldn’t sit up; he was stretched across a leather cot. The worst of his wounds were bandaged and cleaned. He admitted to himself he was surprised.

«Good,» Lolegolas said, again surprising the druid. The two of them were in a small camp consisting of a tiny cooking fire, the druid’s cot, and a log for the blood elf to sit on. It lacked even a tent. «I was worried.»

«What happened?» the druid said. He finally found the strength to sit up, swinging his legs over the side of the cot. «I was trying to get free and bring … Throgg! Throgg needs us!»

«I know,» the blood elf said quietly. «The Grimtotem tossed you into a river. I found you on the way to the top of the bluff. They left you for dead. I suspect if it weren’t for your particular curse, you would be. Can you walk? They will execute Throgg in the morning if we’re not in position soon.»

The druid muttered a quick prayer. Green lights circled his body, invigorating him. «Healing is not my strength, but I am capable. We can go. What’s your plan?»

Lolegolas proffered a small trinket in his hands. It looked like the jawbone of a tiny shark. «We’ll snatch victory from this. The [hide]Jaws of Defeat[/hide]. One of the most powerful magical artifacts used today. I have a plan.»

The blood elf cast his gaze to the bluff overlooking Grimtotem Central. «We’re out of time. Let’s go. Ride like the wind, druid. Ride like the wind.»

Next week, the conclusion of this part of the tale (and the return of more jokes) …

Drama Mamas: Confessions of a drama queen

[hide]Drama Mamas[/hide] Lisa Poisso and Robin Torres are experienced gamers and real-life mamas — and just as we don’t want our precious babies to be the ones kicking and wailing on the floor of the checkout lane next to the candy, neither do we want you to become known as That Guy on your realm.

People are people — even former drama queens.

When I started MMO gaming, there really weren’t a lot of girls playing. In my first game, I was the only girl in our large guild system for a very long time. I totally milked that, too-I’d get free things and was consistently supported by guys going out of their way for me. I discovered very quickly that I really liked the attention. I’m ashamed to say I was very much «that girl» who would send nude photos to some guys in exchange for favors, and I’m not sure how much worse a person could really get.

This behavior went on through multiple games; I liked being the «darling» of the group. And oh, the catfights that would ensue if another girl encroached on my territory…[hide]Continue reading Drama Mamas: Confessions of a drama queen[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Analysis / Opinion[/hide], [hide]Drama Mamas[/hide][hide]Drama Mamas: Confessions of a drama queen[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 15:00:00 EST. Ready Check: WoW Insider’s guide to Shannox

[hide]Ready Check[/hide] helps you prepare yourself and your raid for the bosses that simply require killing. Check back with Ready Check each week for the latest pointers on killing adds, not standing in fire, and hoping for loot that won’t drop.

Shannox is the leader of the Flamewalker hunters and generally the first boss that players tangle with in Firelands. He comes complete with his two pets, Riplimb and Rageface, all of which have to be fought at the same time. Shannox is different than most bosses in that he isn’t initially in the dungeon; you must first clear a fairly hefty amount of trash in order to force him to spawn.

Also unlike other boss encounters, he does not have a set location where you can fight him. Instead, he pads around the pathway that circles around the entire opening portion of the zone. He will always spawn at Baleroc’s gate in the back center of the room and from there circle counterclockwise.

Think your raid is ready to take on the best hunter in the Firelands?[hide]Continue reading Ready Check: WoW Insider’s guide to Shannox[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Raiding[/hide], [hide]Ready Check (Raiding)[/hide][hide]Ready Check: WoW Insider’s guide to Shannox[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 14:00:00 EST.
