Two Bosses Enter: Foe Reaper 5000 vs. Commander Springvale

In [hide]Two Bosses Enter[/hide], WoW Insider’s series of fantasy death matches, the bosses of World of Warcraft face off in the squared circle. Your vote determines who wins and claims the season title.

Last week was the debut of Cataclysm’s second Two Bosses Enter season, featuring a showdown between [hide]High Priestess Azil and «Captain» Cookie[/hide]. It was very exciting! No, really. It was. What, you don’t like watching murlocs get crushed by giant boulders? Well, fine. Maybe this week’s matchup between an automated can opener and a dead paladin turned death knight will be more to your liking.

Follow along for the rules of the matchup, a review of what these bosses can do, and a discussion of last week’s winner.[hide]Continue reading Two Bosses Enter: Foe Reaper 5000 vs. Commander Springvale[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Two Bosses Enter[/hide][hide]Two Bosses Enter: Foe Reaper 5000 vs. Commander Springvale[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Mon, 25 Jul 2011 13:00:00 EST. WoW Moviewatch: My Baby’s a Quest NPC

Work warning: This video contains sexual themes and references.

[hide]Greyfoo[/hide] is back with a brand new video called [hide]My Baby’s a Quest NPC[/hide]. This original music tells the story of a man who discovers his girlfriend is actually a quest giver, which means he needs to perform some Herculean tasks to win her back. Of course, that’s much harder than it seems, and he eventually decides to find love in Dolanaar instead.

This video has the trademark vocals, smooth rhythms, and laid-back feeling possessed by all of Greyfoo’s music. The song was actually written way back in classic WoW, so you might pick up a few oddities while you listen. If your’e a fan of Greyfoo’s music, you can find his complete album over at [hide]CDBaby[/hide].

Interested in the wide world of [hide]machinima[/hide]? We have new movies every weekday here on [hide]WoW Moviewatch[/hide]! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at [hide]moviewatch@wowinsider.com[/hide].

The Queue: Mushrooms are pretty gross

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. [hide]Alex Ziebart[/hide] will be your host today.

Just look at those things! Barforama. Unless they’re on my pizza. Then they’re amazing.

Phranklin asked:

You posted about that [hide]fairy ring in Tirisfal[/hide] last week … at least people were calling it a fairy ring. What IS a fairy ring? Is it something that was in Warcraft before?[hide]Continue reading The Queue: Mushrooms are pretty gross[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Analysis / Opinion[/hide], [hide]The Queue[/hide][hide]The Queue: Mushrooms are pretty gross[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Mon, 25 Jul 2011 11:00:00 EST. The Light and How to Swing It: Healing against Shannox and Beth’tilac

Every week, WoW Insider brings you [hide]The Light and How to Swing It[/hide] for [hide]holy[/hide], [hide]protection[/hide] and [hide]retribution[/hide] paladins. Every Sunday, [hide]Chase Christian[/hide] invites you to discuss the finer side of the paladin class: the holy specialization. Feel free to [hide]email me[/hide] with any questions you want answered, like why paladins are so awesome.

With only seven bosses to claim, Firelands is one of the [hide]smallest raid tiers[/hide] we’ve seen over the past couple of years. I’ve found that the raid can seem much larger than it actually is due to the massive size of the zone. We’re able to explore the terrain and advance in any direction that we please. The first five bosses can be killed in any order, and we fight each on unique terrain. There’s also a plethora of interesting trash mobs and mini-events along the way.

Two of the easiest bosses in Firelands are [hide]Shannox[/hide] and [hide]Beth’tilac[/hide]. If you’re just starting in Firelands, it’s highly likely that you raid will be facing one of these two bosses first. The encounters are very different for healers, at least until their final phases. You’ll want to spend most of your time conserving as much mana as possible, as healing against these bosses gets more difficult as the fights progress. Your ability to keep the raid alive will buy your DPS the time they need to finish the job.[hide]Continue reading The Light and How to Swing It: Healing against Shannox and Beth’tilac[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Paladin[/hide], [hide](Paladin) The Light and How to Swing It[/hide][hide]The Light and How to Swing It: Healing against Shannox and Beth’tilac[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Sun, 24 Jul 2011 18:00:00 EST. All the World’s a Stage: Plot points for draenei roleplayers

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. In World of Warcraft, that player is you! Each week, [hide]Anne Stickney[/hide] brings you [hide]All the World’s a Stage[/hide] with helpful hints, tips and tricks on the art of roleplay in WoW.

Of all the Alliance races you could theoretically play, the draenei have to be the least developed in terms of lore. This is a constant point of contention amongst those who love the draenei as a race and wish to see them further developed (like me!). However, the lack of draenei lore at this point shouldn’t be looked at in a negative light. Most of the time, when something is left deliberately vague, it’s because it will be expanded upon later in some fashion or another — so hopefully, we’ll see more about the draenei soon. Like, say … in the next expansion or two.

In the meantime, there’s still a lot out there for draenei to think about. I know, I know — how exactly do you come up with plot points for a race that doesn’t have much at all in the way of lore, a race that hasn’t really been developed since it was first introduced? What can you possibly make out of all of that? How do you tie that into anything that’s going on currently and have it be at all meaningful?[hide]Continue reading All the World’s a Stage: Plot points for draenei roleplayers[/hide]Filed under: [hide]All the World’s a Stage (Roleplaying)[/hide][hide]All the World’s a Stage: Plot points for draenei roleplayers[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Sun, 24 Jul 2011 16:00:00 EST. The Queue: When I am through with you …

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

… there won’t be [hide]anything[/hide] left.

Trefpoid asked:

Has anybody else noticed that female Naga have been given shirts all of a sudden? Why has this happened? Did someone find that female naga where to provocative going around topless or is Blizzard trying out something else? a friend suggested maybe they are trying to see how they look with armour, maybe as a future playable race, but Blizzard has already stated that playable races need to have legs.. so what has happened here? It’s really weird to see all these nagas with chinese styled clothings all of a sudden and with no explanation.

It does seem to be an intended change, though bear in mind that naga have been able to wear armor since The Burning Crusade. It could be that there’s something being planned for the naga, or at least there’s been a movement to humanize them (or elfize them, as it were). As of right now, though, if you want playable naga, the closest you’ll probably get is the [hide]WoW TCG[/hide]’s upcoming Throne of the Tides expansion.[hide]Continue reading The Queue: When I am through with you ..[/hide].Filed under: [hide]The Queue[/hide][hide]The Queue: When I am through with you ..[/hide]. originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Sun, 24 Jul 2011 12:00:00 EST.
