Paragon releases heroic Ragnaros 25-man kill video

Paragon earned the high honor of [hide]world first heroic Ragnaros[/hide] kill, downing the Firelord after over 400 attempts on his fight. Heroic mode encounters add something new and difficult to the mix, but it is rare that we see an entirely new phase to an encounter. Paragon’s heroic Ragnaros kill video shows the final stage of the fight, in which Ragnaros submerges into his lava pool and emerges at full strength, where his new legs allow movement all over the encounter room.

The final stage of the fight involves Archdruid [hide]Hamuul Runetotem[/hide], [hide]Malfurion Stormrage[/hide], and [hide]Cenarius[/hide] assisting the players in dealing with the entirely new mechanics this new heroic mode phase presents. If you’ve been trying Ragnaros or have killed him, you already have experienced the hilarious [hide]Living Meteor[/hide] ability. In this new phase, meteors must be kited over patches of ice on the ground to freeze them and then players must DPS down meteors to control the amount up at any time. Players are also frantically running around extinguishing ground fires and trapping Ragnaros in roots on the ground. All in all, it looks incredibly fun and challenging, and it’s very nice to see Ragnaros putting his new legs to good use kicking the crap out of guilds across the world.

My favorite part of the video has to be the end, with the custom death animation for Ragnaros. Watch until the very end — it’s worth it. Congratulations again to DREAM Paragon for their heroic first kill and for the awesome video of the accomplshment.

Review: Healbot now available for your iPad or iPhone

There is no shortage of World of Warcraft applications out there for your iPhone or iPad device. You can check and optimize your gear with [hide]Mr. Robot[/hide]; you can chat and play the auction house with the official [hide]Mobile Armory[/hide]; and you can protect your account from hackers with the [hide]Mobile Authenticator[/hide].

This week, you can add another app to that list: [hide]Healbot[/hide], a free, stand-alone iOS game that simulates World of Warcraft boss fights from a healer’s perspective. Your party takes damage; it’s your job to heal through it. If the boss hits zero before your party does, you win. Just like real life! Well, real life in Azeroth, anyway.

If the name app’s name sounds familiar, that’s intentional. According to the game’s developers, Healbot is «based on the mechanics of the Healbot mod in WoW.» But how does this simulation stack up against the real thing? And is it worth your dear, sweet, precious time?[hide]Continue reading Review: Healbot now available for your iPad or iPhone[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Add-Ons[/hide], [hide]Raid Rx (Raid Healing)[/hide][hide]Review: Healbot now available for your iPad or iPhone[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Wed, 27 Jul 2011 19:00:00 EST. Encrypted Text: Rogue tips and tricks for Firelands, part 1

Every week, WoW Insider brings you [hide]Encrypted Text[/hide] for [hide]assassination[/hide], [hide]combat[/hide] and [hide]subtlety[/hide] rogues. [hide]Chase Christian[/hide] will be your guide to the world of shadows every Wednesday. Feel free to [hide]email me[/hide] with your [hide]favorite ganking stories[/hide] or dictionary definitions of the word «griefing.»

The best part of playing a subtlety rogue has always been [hide]Shadowstep[/hide]. Warriors have been blessed with [hide]Intercept[/hide] since day one, and feral druids have [hide]Kitty Leap[/hide] built into their default specs. Rogues, on the other hand, are forced into subtlety to match the mobility of our leather-wearing brethren. Shadowstep could be such a powerful tool for maintaining our uptime in raid situations, if only every rogue had access to it. Subtlety rogues don’t want Shadowstep to become baseline, because then subtlety loses half of its attractiveness.

Even without Shadowstep, rogues have plenty of buttons to push in Firelands. There are plenty of adds to test our AOE potency, utility encounters that stress precision instead of damage, and plenty of nasty spells to interrupt. While we’re not fighting against [hide]Lucifron[/hide] and [hide]Golemagg[/hide] again, we can use our experience against Ragnaros’ former entourage to help us combat the new crew hanging out around his castle. Just remember to have your [hide]Volcanic Armor[/hide] and [hide]Helm of Fire [/hide]equipped; I hear Rag likes to keep his thermostat set to «[hide]crispy[/hide].»[hide]Continue reading Encrypted Text: Rogue tips and tricks for Firelands, part 1[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Rogue[/hide], [hide](Rogue) Encrypted Text[/hide][hide]Encrypted Text: Rogue tips and tricks for Firelands, part 1[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Wed, 27 Jul 2011 18:00:00 EST. Around Azeroth: Come fly with me

[hide][/hide]
Ruu of Shadow Wolves on Dragonblight (EU-H) knew that showing Alive as an in-flight movie was a bad idea, but the only other option was Drive Angry — and she just didn’t hate her passengers that much. Fortunately, there was a gnome mage in the tail section who was able to conjure water and food for the crew. Those Conjured Croissants made for a delicious dessert after they finished eating the gnome.

Breakfast Topic: How about that one gear slot you can’t seem to upgrade?

This [hide]Breakfast Topic[/hide] has been brought to you by [hide]Seed[/hide], the AOL guest writer program that brings [hide]your words[/hide] to WoW Insider’s pages.

People pride themselves on getting the best gear for their characters, whether it’s for competitive arenas or to progress as a raider. But do you have that one gear slot that you just can’t seem to get an upgrade for? In Cataclysm, I am in a core raiding group and I have been raiding for the past three months — but after making an almost full clear of both BoT and BWD and countless heroics, not one wand has dropped from any of the bosses.

It’s getting to a frustrating point. The truly sad thing is, it is the one slot that is stopping me from getting the achievement [hide]Cataclysmically Superior[/hide]. I wonder if other people have this problem? Has there been a piece of gear that, no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to find a replacement for? It there a blue quest necklace still dangling around your neck? Are you still running around Stormwind or Orgrimmar in green shoes?

Аутентикатор Battle.net можно будет отключать

Blizzard Entertainment, возможно, введет опцию отключения аутентикатора безопасности Battle.net, [hide]сообщение[/hide] об этом размещено на официальных форумах MMORPG World of Warcraft.

WoW Moviewatch: How to Win at Let’s Plays

[hide]Wowcrendor[/hide] presented this video to us with a bit of a grin, since it focuses on more than just WoW. It’s called [hide]How to Win at Let’s Plays[/hide], and it looks at a series of common commentary videos you can find all over YouTube. Don’t worry if you’re shy about other games — there’s plenty of WoW in here.

I look at this video as a cautionary tale for folks who want to create their own video game commentaries. («Let’s play» is just a reference to that kind of video.) In a moment of painful epiphany, I realized that Wowcrendor pretty much nailed it with this piece. I’ve seen at least a dozen of every example he presents.

A good Wowcrendor video is when you finish it, you can’t decide whether to laugh or cry.
