The Guild Season 5 now available for everyone

While Season 5 of [hide]The Guild[/hide] was [hide]released for Zune and the Xbox 360[/hide] earlier this week, it hasn’t been easily available on the web for everyone. Well, that’s changed today. For your viewing pleasure, the online smash hit [hide]The Guild[/hide] season 5 has officially hit the ‘net!

Episode 1, [hide]Road Trip[/hide], has our online heroes traveling to the Megagame-o-Ramacon, the aptly named convention of all things gaming. The Knights of Good will have their work cut out for them, as the fruits of road trips — and the actual destination — never come easily.

[hide]Felicia Day[/hide], the show’s creator, and the rest of The Guild were at this year’s [hide]San Diego Comic-Con[/hide], where fans saw a preview of this episode.

If you’ve missed a handful of episodes, catch up over on [hide]MSN Video[/hide] or watch them all on [hide]Hulu[/hide]. You can also catch up over on the [hide]Xbox Live Zune marketplace[/hide], too.

Drama Mamas: Rivals for love

[hide]Drama Mamas[/hide] Lisa Poisso and Robin Torres are experienced gamers and real-life mamas — and just as we don’t want our precious babies to be the ones kicking and wailing on the floor of the checkout lane next to the candy, neither do we want you to become known as That Guy on your realm.

Good friends vying for the attentions of the same woman — it’s a tale as old as time and certainly not new to WoW.

We also have an announcement: This is the last Drama Mamas column …[hide]Continue reading Drama Mamas: Rivals for love[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Analysis / Opinion[/hide], [hide]Guilds[/hide], [hide]Drama Mamas[/hide][hide]Drama Mamas: Rivals for love[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 29 Jul 2011 13:00:00 EST. WoW Moviewatch: What Would Warchief Garrosh Do?

I’m not entirely sure what coincidence has inspired it, but I’ve seen dungeon requests this week for a re-feature of this video by Irdeen Productions. [hide]What Would Warchief Garrosh Do[/hide]? was Irdeen Production’s entry into the BlizzCon 2010 machinima contest.

Obviously inspired by South Park’s love of Brian Boitano, a handful of Horde kids sing an entertaining anthem about Garrosh Hellscream. Now that we’ve had about 9 months of Garrosh under our belts, I wonder how many of us still think Garrosh is a great Horde leader. Regardless of my feelings about Hellscream, I do love this video. It’s fun, fast, and packed with lots of jokes.

The Queue: Twilight cultists are everywhere

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

Is there no one the long tendrils of the Twilight’s Hammer can’t touch? Not even Holiday, my friend Caitlyn’s cat, could withstand their siren song. She’s currently in the running to be the next elemental ascendant of catnip.

jrj_paladin asked:

I play a lvl 85 Holy pally as my main and I am as well geared as I can get without doing raids. I was told that with the last patch they said that the old raids are now pugable but I have always been very scared to do them. So how easy are the old raids compared to the what they use to be?

They’re 20% easier or more, depending on the boss! Damage and abilities from the tier 11 bosses was nerfed by at least that much, in most cases. You still need to understand the way the fights work and respond to fight gimmicks appropriately, but it’s considerably less punishing to you and the raid if you do mess up. Educate yourself on the fights and go with other educated people (or fast learners), and you should be fine.[hide]Continue reading The Queue: Twilight cultists are everywhere[/hide]Filed under: [hide]The Queue[/hide][hide]The Queue: Twilight cultists are everywhere[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Fri, 29 Jul 2011 11:00:00 EST. Around Azeroth: Swamp blood

[hide][/hide]
«In recent months I’ve been feeling jaded by WoW,» writes [hide]Selieca[/hide] of [hide]Night Watch[/hide] on Terenas (EU-A). «It’s too easy to lose interest, to find other shiny things to do. But then, when doing something as everyday as waiting for a boat, WoW suddenly smacks you in the face with a moment like this. The scenery around Wetlands absolutely blew me away! I’ve walked through that place for the last five years whilst leveling various gnomes, but for some reason never remember it having that little extra magic. Maybe it’s the surgical-instrument-pink sky?»

Scattered Shots: Hunter pet changes — QQ or HTFU?

Every Thursday, WoW Insider brings you [hide]Scattered Shots[/hide] for [hide]beast mastery[/hide], [hide]marksmanship[/hide] and [hide]survival[/hide] hunters. Frostheim of [hide]Warcraft Hunters Union[/hide] uses logic and science (mixed with a few mugs of dwarven stout) to look deep into the hunter class. Mail your hunter questions to [hide]Frostheim[/hide].

Today’s header video is a sneak peek at the hunter class in patch 7.3, after the implementation of dual wielding and after minimum range is finally removed from the game. It also looks like we get a melee disarm, which I agree would be nice. Pillar humping is clearly still a vital arena strategy, however. This look at the awesomeness to come should help soften the pain of the unpleasant subject of today’s column.

The hunter pet stance changes blow.

There’s just no sugarcoating it; the changes to pet stances simply make our lives worse than they were before. If you want to hand me a petition to repeal the changes, I will happily sign it. However, it seems likely the changes are something that we’re just going to have to put up with, like ads to [hide]buy gold online[/hide], fake [hide]sparkle pony[/hide] phishing emails, and the continued [hide]existence of elves[/hide]. So, too, must we apparently suck it up and deal with increasingly unruly pets that need a stronger guiding hand.

Join me after the cut as we discuss the changes in more depth and ask the question of what is to be done about it. Do we hunters try to wail up a paladin-like storm of QQ in hopes of effecting a change, or is it something deliberate and we just have to HTFU?[hide]Continue reading Scattered Shots: Hunter pet changes — QQ or HTFU[/hide]?Filed under: [hide]Hunter[/hide], [hide](Hunter) Scattered Shots[/hide][hide]Scattered Shots: Hunter pet changes — QQ or HTFU[/hide]? originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 16:00:00 EST. Addon Spotlight: Slackers, beware! RSC is on to you

Each week, WoW Insider’s [hide]Mathew McCurley[/hide] brings you a fresh look at [hide]reader-submitted UIs[/hide] as well as [hide]Addon Spotlight[/hide], which focuses on the backbone of the WoW gameplay experience: the user interface. Everything from bags to bars, buttons to DPS meters and beyond — your addons folder will never be the same.

Are you ready to pull? The ready check says you’ve got the green light, people look ready, and your current raid boss stands in front of you, cruising for a bruising every moment you wait before initiating the fight. Stop. Is everyone flasked? Did everyone eat the feast? Who pre-potted on a progression encounter? Has someone dropped a repair bot that was not noticed? Are you sure that you’re ready to pull?

There is little more annoying than raiders giving half their effort to the team effort, 10- or 25-man raiding. It’s game time, people! Stop slacking! We’ve got bosses to kick in the loot bags and gear to grab. Maybe with a little help from RaidSlackCheck, you can whip your cadre of nerds into shape and get these fights down at a quicker pace.[hide]Continue reading Addon Spotlight: Slackers, beware! World of WarCrafts: Lightly Fried Lurker

[hide]World of WarCrafts[/hide] spotlights art and creativity by WoW players, including fan art, cooking, comics, cosplay, music, fan fiction and more. Sample the whole spectrum on our [hide]Arts and Crafts in [/hide][hide]WoW[/hide] page.

Cataclysm brought about a whole host of world changes to Azeroth’s landscape, new talent trees to explore, and a ton of new quests and achievements. It also brought a whole ton of new recipes for aspiring Azerothian chefs and a bunch of new [hide]cooking achievements[/hide], to boot — achievements that involve a whole heck of a lot of recipes for fish, which is only appropriate since a ton of new [hide]fishing achievements[/hide] were added, too!

Some people love fish, some people hate it, and some chefs shy away from it, as it can be tricky to cook. But today’s recipe is one of the easiest dinner recipes out there. Not only is it simple, it’s delicious. This is actually a special recipe to me; it was my mother’s, and I have no idea where she got it from originally. But whenever my mother fried up fish, it disappeared in a flash; we kids could never get enough of it. Thankfully, the recipe was passed on to us, and now I am passing it on to all of you — deliciousness ought to be shared, after all. Let’s wander into the kitchen and make ourselves a fish dinner, shall we?

The OverAchiever: The gold coins of the Dalaran fountain

Every Thursday, [hide]The Overachiever[/hide] shows you how to work toward those sweet achievement points. This week, we finally get the last damn coin.

In response to some questions from last week, yep — we’ll be heading for some Firelands achievements after this (and the conclusion of [hide]our Mountain O’ Mounts guide[/hide]), but I did want to finish our series on the Dalaran fountain first.

The gold coins are arguably the most interesting of the bunch, or at least they concern most of the more significant lore figures in the World of Warcraft universe. As before, getting all of the coins will grant you [hide]A Penny For Your Thoughts[/hide], [hide]Silver in the City[/hide], and [hide]There’s Gold in That There Fountain[/hide], with the completion of all three granting [hide]The Coin Master[/hide] and one more notch toward [hide]Accomplished Angler[/hide].

If you’re looking for our two previous installments concerning basic information on the achievements and full descriptions of the copper and silver coins, you’ll find those here:

WoW Moviewatch: Theory of a Death Knight Wants to be a Tuskarr

This is an odd video from [hide]Myndflame[/hide]. Essentially, [hide]Theory of a Death Knight[/hide] spells out at a news conference why he thinks tuskarr should be a playable race. As is customary for the poor death knight, he gets eaten by a dinosaur.

I’m not sure I completely agree with the logic proposed by Theory of a Death Knight, since I’m not sure hauling around a spare tire should be a virtue. But I definitely agree that the tuskarr should be playable, because having tusks on the Alliance side would be spectacular.
