MMORPG World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

[hide][/hide] [hide][/hide]

Хранилище Бездны будет отдельным для каждого персонажа, а не общим для всех персонажей одного аккаунта. В настоящий момент разработчики размышляют над введением возможности хранить в нем предметы, прикрепленные к учетной записи, но до этого «им нужно решить ряд технических вопросов»;
Плата за открытие хранилища, добавление и изъятие из него предметов еще находится в процессе обсуждения, поэтому указанные на скриншотах цены – не окончательные;
Хранилище Бездны никак не связано с [hide]трансмогрификацией[/hide], поэтому для изменения внешнего вида предмета его не нужно туда помещать. Эти аспекты игры не имеют друг к другу никакого отношения;

Tuesday Morning Post: Playing dressup edition

[hide][/hide]
So despite the continued lack of a patch 4.3 PTR, the [hide]patch 4.3 news[/hide] came in with a vengeance this week. Not only did [hide]threat become trivial[/hide], but we’re going to see active mitigation for tanks and [hide]extra bank storage[/hide] for your stray item sets and fashion pieces. We found out that [hide]cross-realm raiding[/hide] is in the works. We also learned that [hide]Deathwing will be the final boss[/hide] of patch 4.3. But all that pales in comparison to the number one news. [hide]We’re getting cosmetic armor slots[/hide].

Sure, there’s restrictions, some of them are [hide]more arbitrary than others[/hide], but we’re finally getting them. I figure it’s all about baby steps. Sure, my death knight can’t wear an [hide]eyepatch[/hide] for now. My rogue won’t be able to wear a [hide]Corsair’s Overshirt[/hide] and be a swashbuckler. And I’ll have to defer my dreams of my warrior becoming a [hide]leather-clad berserker[/hide]. But sooner or later, maybe Blizzard will realize that it’s not a bad thing to offer your players even more choices, and that in a game with a distinguished history of [hide]poop quests[/hide] and featuring such NPCs as [hide]Mylune[/hide], [hide]Goblin Hitler[/hide], and [hide]Linken[/hide], maybe a rogue [hide]dual wielding fish[/hide] isn’t really all that immersion breaking after all.

All that said, it looks like we’re no closer to the patch 4.3 PTR this week, as all we get is [hide]a quick set of rolling restarts[/hide] for downtime, starting at 5 a.m. PDT. While you’re waiting for your server to come back up, you’ll definitely want to catch up on all the patch 4.3 buzz here. Our usual roundup awaits you after the break.[hide]Continue reading Tuesday Morning Post: Playing dressup edition[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Realm Status[/hide], [hide]News items[/hide][hide]Tuesday Morning Post: Playing dressup edition[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Tue, 23 Aug 2011 07:00:00 EST. Breakfast Topic: What’s the next big change?

[hide][/hide]
With the coming of [hide]transmogrification[/hide] in [hide]patch 4.3[/hide], the ability for players to customize the cosmetic look of their gear while retaining the statistics of the newest loot, Blizzard has broken a 6 and a half year old ironclad philosophical premise that players should not have control over the appearance of their gear. Gear was, according to Blizzard, never «dyeable» because of the intricate texture work each piece of armor was comprised of, and key pieces of armor and weapons were meant to, at a glance, let players know the power and prestige of their friend or foe.

Transmogrification is [hide]a bigger change than a lot of people realize[/hide]. However, this is not the last time Blizzard is going to make such a huge change to the WoW philosophy. What is going to be the next big thing? Will it be a cross-faction race in the [hide]next expansion[/hide]? Will players finally be given more customization options in the wake of the absolutely awesome transmogrification? What big change to WoW will Blizzard make next that seemingly goes against every grain we’ve come to expect? What are you hoping Blizzard works into the game that we had never really thought could be a part of World of Warcraft?

Around Azeroth: Nesting instincts

[hide][/hide]
«With long-term plans of transmogrification already running through her head, Shanthi had Darkweaver Syth from Sethekk Halls in her cross-hairs for some [hide]pretty shoes[/hide] it possessed,» writes [hide]Shanthi[/hide] of [hide]Electric Mayhem[/hide] on Kargath (US-H). «However, running singlemindedly from the entrance to Syth apparently roused all the other occupants, who chased her through the corridors. When Shanthi finally stopped to fight them all, the resultant explosion of feathers created quite a pretty ring around her. I suppose it was their avian nature that caused them to form such a lovely nest.»

Breakfast Topic: World of Prankcraft

As I flew through the air with the aerobatic ease of a football, I began to reflect what choices I had made in my short time in the World of Warcraft. What had lead me to this fate? Was it my stubborn tenacity? My ambition? A thirst for glory?

NAY. It was the priests in my raid having very little scruples and all the Dispels they could keybind to their bars on the Volcanus fight inside of Firelands. For those not in the know, Volcanus is a special boss that you summon when you are on the quest chain for the legendary staff Dragonwrath. Part of the fight requires having fiery roots dispelled off of the raid in order to continue fighting a giant flaming tree, but do this too early and you will get punted into the air, sailing gracefully into the hot steamy emptiness underneath Firelands. Did this happen to anyone else? No, some priest saw fit just to do this to me, a pitiful gnome mage. (Thankfully, it was no match for my Blink and Evocate one-two punch!)

Which brings me to my question, dear readers, have you ever been on the butt-end of a dumb prank? Or were you the one that logged onto your friend’s character and left them stranded with no gear and no hearthstone in an enemy town?

Drama Mamas: Namecalling

[hide]Drama Mamas[/hide] Lisa Poisso and Robin Torres are experienced gamers and real-life mamas — and just as we don’t want our precious babies to be the ones kicking and wailing on the floor of the checkout lane next to the candy, neither do we want you to become known as That Guy on your realm.

Things don’t have to be serious to potentially cause drama.

Dear Drama Mamas,

I have a in-game pet peeve that I could use some advice in working through. In short, it’s being called by my class in randoms. For me, it’s like nails on chalkboard, being called «Hunter, trap square» or «Priest, on adds». Now, I’ve been playing since BC launched, so you’d think I’d have a tougher skin when it comes to something seemingly so small, but I really don’t. I used to have a lot more tolerance, but I really think upon reflection that people just used to use names more often on my server in pugs. From my perspective, when you call someone by their class, you’re relegating them to being an object, an npc that you’re directing what to do and where to go. Excuse me, but I’m a person who chose their toon’s name with care when I created them literally years ago for most of them. If I can take the time to type in the first four letter of your name in party chat, can’t you do the same? I’m okay with using roles (tank/heals/dps), since those are groups of people who are doing the same job in the group. That’s not derogatory.[hide]Continue reading Drama Mamas: Namecalling[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Analysis / Opinion[/hide], [hide]Drama Mamas[/hide][hide]Drama Mamas: Namecalling[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Mon, 22 Aug 2011 09:00:00 EST. Around Azeroth: It’s a fairy tale so tragic

[hide][/hide]
I wish I were the moon tonight. [hide]Mittensea[/hide] of [hide]Brotherhood of Steel[/hide] on Antonidas (US-A) has found a magic wand and is spreading her fairy dust all over Azeroth, bringing joy and happiness to thousands of creatures. (The DEA might want to look into the chemical composition of that fairy dust, by the way.) Sadly, her voyage of peace and love ended badly, as she landed in the mouth of a very patient crocodile who had been timing her descent.

Hacker groups tried to take down WoW … and failed

Given the recent hacking of major companies, could WoW be hacked? In an article posted today at [hide]Digital Spy[/hide], Lead Game Designer Tom Chilton replies that attempts have been made recently, but Blizzard came through unharmed.

While the question and answer doesn’t specifically say LulzSec or Anonymous, I think it’s safe to assume LulzSec is the group in question, given the recent [hide]high-profile attacks on U.S. government sites[/hide] and [hide]other MMOs, like EVE Online[/hide].

Most of LulzSec’s work has been focused on [hide]DDoS attacks[/hide] and breaking into servers to create «lulz.» During their most recent spree, rumors abounded that WoW was a target; however, nothing came of it. It would now appear nothing came of it thanks to Blizzard’s security measures.

Tom Chilton

Several major gaming studios have fallen victim to hackers of late. What measure are Blizzard taking to ensure that WoW is not hit?

We have always tried to be as diligent as we possibly can when it comes to security. Certainly when hacking was going on with other companies recently there were numerous attempts against ourselves also. Fortunately, our security was good enough, so we didn’t lose data or anything like that.

We always put a high priority on security, but that’s not to say you can ever be impregnable. We’re not resting on our laurels saying ‘they can’t get us’. It’s always a possibility, and we take it very serious, but so far, so good.

The Queue: Purple is perfection

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. [hide]Alex Ziebart[/hide] will be your host today.

You know, the [hide]Crystalforge[/hide] set doesn’t look bad at all when you put it on a Draenei. With the right accessories to accompany it, it actually looks very good! The problem is that there are races other than Draenei that have to wear it. It doesn’t hold the same charm when a Human male wears it.

Ice asked:

Do you think 4.3 will last almost year like ICC (~11 months) and Sunwell(~10 months) did? Or do you predict that this time its possible that the expansion release start of the 2012 unlike end of the year considering that theres few upcoming MMO’s coming at those times too?[hide]Continue reading The Queue: Purple is perfection[/hide]Filed under: [hide]The Queue[/hide][hide]The Queue: Purple is perfection[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Mon, 22 Aug 2011 11:00:00 EST.
