It came from the Blog: Join us for a fashion show

I’m not exactly known for my in-game fashion sense, but with all the talk about transmogrification and the collecting of fun clothes, I think it’s time for [hide]It came from the Blog[/hide]’s first fashion show.

When: Wednesday, Aug. 31, 10:30 p.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. PDT, 8:30 p.m. server time)

Where: Meet at the Court of the Sun in Silvermoon City on Zangarmarsh (US-PVE-H)

Who: Any level Horde character

How: Ask any member of It came from the Blog for an invite, if you are not already in our family of guilds. If you are on a trial account, just whisper /flex at Robiness to join the show.

We will make use of that lovely ramp that those show-off Blood Elves have in their capital city to display our best outfits/costumes/atrocities. If you are just creating a character or have a low-level character with nothing but greys and whites, please join us anyway. We’ll have sections of the show just for you.

As usual, I will be streaming the event. Join us!

Please join us on Zangarmarsh (US-PVE-H) in [hide]It came from the Blog[/hide]. All Guild ranks can invite, so /whisper any online member. You are all welcome as long as you play by [hide]our simple rules[/hide] — basically, don’t be a funsucker! Visit [hide]the guild FAQ[/hide] for more details.

Blood Sport: Developing successful arena strategies

Want to crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of their women? [hide]C. Christian Moore[/hide], multiple Rank 1 [hide]Gladiator[/hide], examines the latest arena strategy, trends, compositions and more in [hide]Blood Sport[/hide].

It has not been a good month of WoW in the Moore household. Starting four weeks ago, my internet went down for a good three weeks. Last week, I got in a motorcycle accident. The crash wasn’t that bad, but I am now very wary of puddles. Very wary.

This week, we’ll be discussing how to create and develop successful arena strategies. Quick aside: I see many players confusing the terms strategy and tactics. Strategies are overarching game plans for how to defeat specific enemy teams. Tactics are specific skills used to accomplish strategies. If strategy is the blueprint to a skyscraper, tactics are the best way to weld steel beams together.

Strategy We can rotate crowd control on the enemy mage and rogue while DPSing the priest after he trinkets.

Tactic The rogue is on Fear diminishing returns, start using Polymorph on him.

Blizzard remains optimistic about WoW subscriber numbers

This past May, Blizzard announced its World of Warcraft playerbase had [hide]declined to 11.4 million[/hide], a 5% drop from its post-Cataclysm high of 12 million. Predictably, the game’s detractors pounced on the news, citing it as evidence of WoW’s impending demise.

The company isn’t worried that it’s all downhill from here, however, according to [hide]The Market for Computer & Video Games interview[/hide] with Blizzard Entertainment’s VP and executive MD of internal operations Michael Ryder. Citing the game’s impending launch in Brazil, growth in China, and the new free-to-play aspect of WoW (at least, free-to-play up to level 20), Ryder insists that the world’s most successful MMORPG has room to become even more successful.

Spin? Perhaps. But still, even if subscriber numbers continue a slow decline, there’s no question that WoW will be profitable — and thus, still around — for a long time to come.

Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with [hide]patch 4.3[/hide]. Look at what’s ahead: new [hide]item storage options[/hide], [hide]cross-realm raiding[/hide], [hide]cosmetic armor skinning[/hide] and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing — from [hide]astride his back[/hide]!

Вышел патч 4.2.2

Патч 4.2.2 к MMORPG World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Call for Submissions: Breakfast Topics

[hide][/hide]
Yes, it’s a picture of the most controversial cup of coffee that has ever graced the pages of WoW Insider again, so you know what that means. We’re looking to you, dear readers, to help fill the WoW Insider Breakfast Topic cup with hot, fresh topics! What’s on your mind (and what do you think is on other players’ minds) when it comes to the World of Warcraft? Write it up as Breakfast Topic and [hide]submit your article[/hide] for a chance to be published right here on WoW Insider.

We’re looking for [hide]Breakfast Topics in our usual conversational style[/hide], asking the community for their thoughts on a WoW-related topic. Submissions should be between 200 and 300 words. (Watch that top end! Exceeding it substantially could get your submission thrown out, no matter how good it is. Brevity is your friend.) We’re looking for strong writing in combination with topics that will spark an interesting conversation. Only the best submissions will be accepted. Multiple submissions from one author are allowed.

WoW Insider does not accept articles submitted under player names or pen names; please use your full, real name and an actual email address. Please include your email address again at the bottom of your submission; the email address will not be published, but it makes it easier for the WoW Insider staff to contact you if there is a need for it. Artwork is not mandatory, but any you choose to include must be your own work or via Creative Commons.[hide]Continue reading Call for Submissions: Breakfast Topics[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Guest Posts[/hide][hide]Call for Submissions: Breakfast Topics[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Mon, 29 Aug 2011 19:00:00 EST. Gold Capped: Is prospecting still worth it?

Every week, WoW Insider brings you [hide]Gold Capped[/hide], in which [hide]Fox Van Allen[/hide] and Basil «[hide]Euripides[/hide]» Berntsen aim to show you how to make money on the auction house. Feed Fox’s ego by [hide]emailing him[/hide] or tweeting him at [hide]@foxvanallen[/hide].

The [hide]jewelcrafting shuffle[/hide] used to be an incredibly lucrative way to make money. It was simple: You went to the Auction House, bought out the stock of ore, and then hit your prospecting key as fast as you could. You’d craft what was profitable to craft; you’d vendor the raw gems that weren’t otherwise useful. And because the vendor value of the raw gems was almost always more than the value of the Elementium or Obsidium Ore prospected to get those gems, we had a no-lose situation. A jewelcrafter’s risk was 0; the profit potential limited only by the amount of time you had to waste doing the «shuffle.»

Of course, that was prior to patch 4.2. After the patch, each green gem (for example, [hide]Zephyrite[/hide]) saw its vendor value slashed to a mere 50 silver. The days of the jewelcrafting shuffle were over. But still, the days of profitable jewelcrafting still live on.

This past week, my Gold Capped tag-team partner Basil opined that patch 4.3 will bring epic gems. He’s probably right, but that doesn’t mean you have to bide your time, stockpiling [hide]Pyrite Ore[/hide] until patch 4.3 to make some serious money as a JC. Let’s take a second look at the old jewelcrafting shuffle and see if we can still find profit hiding in the jewelcrafting profession.[hide]Continue reading Gold Capped: Is prospecting still worth it[/hide]?Filed under: [hide]Economy[/hide], [hide]Gold Capped[/hide][hide]Gold Capped: Is prospecting still worth it[/hide]? originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Mon, 29 Aug 2011 20:00:00 EST. В патче 4.3 пройти контент 71-80 уровней станет легче

Blizzard Entertainment [hide]ответила[/hide] на вопросы игроков MMORPG World of Warcraft в социальной сети Twitter. Наиболее интересным стало заявление о том, что в патче 4.3 количество опыта, необходимого для прохождения 71-80 уровней (контент WotLK), будет уменьшено. Помимо этого, появилась и другая информация, ознакомиться с которой можно ниже.

Tuesday Morning Post: Fezzes are cool edition

[hide][/hide]
Happy Tuesday morning, everyone. You’d think it’d be a slow week this time around. [hide]Gamescom[/hide] was last week, and Blizzard doesn’t seem to have done much at PAX. Patch 4.3 isn’t on the PTR yet. Still, Blizzard managed to get enough news out. [hide]

The Darkmoon Faire[/hide] is getting a huge revamp in [hide]patch 4.3[/hide], with new quests, new games, the ability to semi-powerlevel your professions — and most importantly, a monkey with a fez. Forget fighting Deathwing; I gotta get me a monkey with a fez.

The other good news today is that [hide]scheduled maintenance[/hide] is lasting from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. PDT. That may not sound great, but that may mean we’ll get [hide]patch 4.2.2[/hide] on live servers, which itself means we’re one step closer to patch 4.3. Of course, if I’m wrong about that whole patch 4.2.2 thing, that just means downtime sucks a little more this week.

Either way, you should have plenty of time to catch up on all the news you missed in the past seven days, so join us after the break for our usual roundup.[hide]Continue reading Tuesday Morning Post: Fezzes are cool edition[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Realm Status[/hide], [hide]News items[/hide][hide]Tuesday Morning Post: Fezzes are cool edition[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Tue, 30 Aug 2011 05:00:00 EST.
