В сети появились первые изображения новых комплектов брони из подземелий патча 4.3 к MMOPRG World of Warcraft: Cataclysm от компании Blizzard Entertainment, [hide]сообщает[/hide] WoW Insider. Эти найденные при помощи датамайнинга наборы не являются окончательной версией, однако утверждается, что внешний вид настоящих комплектов будет аналогичным. На тканевых доспехах плечи не отображаются корректно из-за бага.

Breakfast Topic: Is it time to implement artifacts?

This [hide]Breakfast Topic[/hide] has been brought to you by [hide]Seed[/hide], the AOL guest writer program that brings [hide]your words[/hide] to WoW Insider’s pages.

More and more people are gearing up in epic equipment these days, either through Zandalari heroics or normal and heroic-level raiding. This leads to a lot of purple items of wide range of different ilevels, particularly toward the end of an expansion set. While this is great for those of us who are catching up to current content (or gearing up an alt), couldn’t there be more of an incentive for hardcore raiders?

Back in vanilla, it was really something to see someone decked out in the highest level of gear. The color category of a player’s items alone was enough to determine their in-game accomplishment. I absolutely think it’s a good thing that a larger group of people get to see content and gear up quickly, but shouldn’t there be a new level of reward for those who work the hardest on progression?

Well, as longtime WoW players may remember, there already is. There has always been a level of gear above epics that has never been implemented in game: [hide]artifacts[/hide]. Originally planned as a step above legendary items, red-quality artifact items could perhaps instead replace heroic raiding-quality epic items as a status symbol for those at the cutting edge of content.

At a point in time when blue gear is considered temporary and purple is again becoming the norm, could it be time to implement a rarer category of reward? Do you think it would be beneficial to World of Warcraft for the best possible items to be of a different grade? Would this be enough to bring hardcore players back to the game? Or would it greatly devalue traditional epics?

Mine of WorldCraft blockifies Azeroth

YouTube user and Minecraft enthusiast [hide]Haasth22[/hide] has replicated some of the human starting experience in popular indie title Minecraft, complete with blockified tier 2 Judgement armor and quest NPCs. Sure, it’s heavily edited, but who doesn’t love seeing Azeroth all blocky with that recognizable Minecraft charm? Whatever you do, don’t watch the movie while playing WoW, because you will alt-tab into game to see if you got a message or a whisper (like I’m doing right now) while listening to the sounds of the video.

If you’ve got other cool recreations of WoW in Minecraft, we’d love to see it. You can always use [hide]our tip line[/hide] to send us videos, questions, and suggestions. Heck, you could even shoot us a compliment. We love compliments.

Around Azeroth: Dance like no one is watching, please

[hide][/hide]
Arcane mage and aspiring dancer [hide]Evilboi[/hide] of [hide]The Last One Standing[/hide] on Vek’nilash (US-A) was feared being ostracized from his clan for his interest in the noble art of ballet. So he had to practice for the Dalaran production of Swan Lake in the most isolated area possible — the middle of an actual lake. Sure, his guildies mock him, but they don’t realize exactly how many cute Blood Elf ballerinas there are out there.

The Queue: Sealab 2021 Insider

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior editor at WoW Insider and webmaster of a [hide]new mobile gaming website[/hide], will be your host today.

I’m not exactly sure who asked that we start Sealab 2021 Insider in Tuesday’s Queue. But here we are. Let’s go.

Siaperas asked:

What is your most annoying experience with a player randomly going afk during an encounter, and what was that player’s excuse?[hide]Continue reading The Queue: Sealab 2021 Insider[/hide]Filed under: [hide]The Queue[/hide][hide]The Queue: Sealab 2021 Insider[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Thu, 29 Sep 2011 11:00:00 EST. Patch 4.3 PTR: Zandalari heroics no longer in own tier; all heroics award 150 VP

The new Hour of Twilight / [hide]patch 4.3[/hide] heroic dungeons will have their own category in the random Dungeon Finder, while the Zandalari heroics tier has mysteriously disappeared. Now, when queueing for a random Cataclysm heroic, the system will include the two Troll instances if your item level is satisfactory to enter. In addition, the Hour of Twilight dungeons, as well as any Cataclysm heroic, now [hide]reward 150 valor points[/hide] per completion, up to seven times week. Any heroic will now grant the same amount of valor points.

Moving the Zandalari heroics into the general heroic pool seemed like it would happen eventually, considering that having multiple tiers of dungeons to queue up for could get confusing over time. Now, players will be placed into dungeons based on their ilevel and not necessarily which dungeon category they queue for.

This presents an interesting dilemma, though. Players who want to do a quick heroic right now can queue for a random, non-Troll heroic and be in and out with half the VP (and half the stress — I’m looking at you, Jin’do) in half the time of a Troll heroic. In 4.3, it doesn’t appear that you’ll have the option. Then again, everyone at a high enough gear level to care about this stuff will just queue for the Hour of Twilight heroics anyway, right?[hide]Continue reading Patch 4.3 PTR: Zandalari heroics no longer in own tier; all heroics award 150 VP[/hide]Filed under: [hide]News items[/hide], [hide]Cataclysm[/hide][hide]Patch 4.3 PTR: Zandalari heroics no longer in own tier; all heroics award 150 VP[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Wed, 28 Sep 2011 14:30:00 EST. Encrypted Text: Blackfang Battleweave, or Deathwing is the Joker

Every week, WoW Insider brings you [hide]Encrypted Text[/hide] for [hide]assassination[/hide], [hide]combat[/hide] and [hide]subtlety[/hide] rogues. [hide]Chase Christian[/hide] will be your guide to the world of shadows every Wednesday. Feel free to [hide]email me[/hide] with any questions or article suggestions you’d like to see covered here.

Blizzard has been posting previews of the upcoming tier 13 sets, allowing us to see what our new sets will look like visually. When describing the tier 13 set for rogues, [hide]Blackfang Battleweave[/hide], it was said that the armor is [hide]bat-themed[/hide]. When I think of bats and bat-themed armor, I immediately think of the [hide]Caped Crusader[/hide]. Not to worry, as the preview also claimed that they «were careful to skirt the more obvious inspirations.» Oh, that’s good news — so they’re not designing our next tier set in such a way that it would warrant a cease and desist letter from [hide]DC Comics[/hide]. The only real similarity between our gear and the [hide]Dark Knight’s[/hide] is the pointy cowl; I don’t see any shaped abs on our leather tunic.

As soon as I let my guard down, the [hide]WoW Facebook page[/hide] posts an image of a rogue soaring through the night air on a pair of dark wings. Our [hide]new legendary daggers[/hide], the Fangs of the Father, apparently, give us wings. You can’t see this picture and not immediately [hide]see the resemblance[/hide] to the [hide]Masked Manhunter[/hide] himself. I can only think of two possibilities: Either I accidentally started playing [hide]DC Universe Online[/hide] at some point without realizing it, or [hide]Frank Miller[/hide] has replaced [hide]Samwise Didier[/hide] as Blizzard’s art director.[hide]Continue reading Encrypted Text: Blackfang Battleweave, or Deathwing is the Joker[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Rogue[/hide], [hide](Rogue) Encrypted Text[/hide][hide]Encrypted Text: Blackfang Battleweave, or Deathwing is the Joker[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Wed, 28 Sep 2011 15:00:00 EST. Patch 4.3 PTR: New level 80 gear sets for every class

Here’s an interesting tidbit of information coming out of the news from the [hide]patch 4.3[/hide] PTR: Each class has a level 80 set of gear at ilevel 232 that covers every spec and gear slot from head to toe, weapons, rings and trinkets included. We have no idea what purpose these sets serve or where and how they are obtained, but each set is in the files and has art that matches the level 68 to 70 gear one picks up in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord.

We could speculate a million different explanations for these sets. A new service or gameplay mechanic to make new characters that start at level 80, perhaps? We’ll know soon, hopefully. Here are all of the set names, with Wowhead links for those curious souls.

Paladin [hide]Zealous [/hide]

Warrior [hide]Valiant [/hide]

DK [hide]Ebonsoul [/hide]

Mage [hide]Magesoul [/hide]

Warlock [hide]Dreadsoul [/hide]

Priest [hide]Seraphic [/hide]

Rogue [hide]Shadowstalking [/hide]

Druid [hide]Wildsoul [/hide]

Shaman [hide]Stormbinder [/hide]

Hunter [hide]Beastsoul [/hide]

Patch 4.3 PTR: Season 11 PVP sets might blow your mind

[hide][/hide]
Intrepid, independent dataminers have managed to dig up what is probably the Season 11 Arena gear in [hide]patch 4.3[/hide], and speaking as a paladin (pictured above), it is just incredible. These sets, titled Cataclysmic Gladiator, manage to look both delightfully ornate while still appearing to be valid battle armor. That balance is something Warhammer has always done well but Warcraft has often failed to capture.

Comparisons between [hide]tier 13[/hide] and Season 11 armor will almost certainly be a hot debate this patch. I’m not entirely sure which side I fall on. As a [hide]paladin[/hide], this Season 11 armor will be driving me toward PVP, but our resident warrior extraordinaire isn’t so hot on the [hide]Cataclysmic Glad outfit for warriors[/hide]. Different people have different opinions — who knew?

Our thanks go out to Leviathon over at [hide]Scrolls of Lore[/hide] for the images.

Spiritual Guidance: Shadow priest tier 13

[hide][/hide]
Every week, WoW Insider brings you [hide]Spiritual Guidance[/hide] for [hide]discipline[/hide], [hide]holy[/hide] and [hide]shadow[/hide] priests. On Wednesdays, shadow priesting expert [hide]Fox Van Allen[/hide]’s comes from out of the darkness to bask in your loving adoration. Fox is a caring nurturer, a member of several 12-step programs, but not a licensed therapist.

I’m not a fan of dancing. I’m just not coordinated to the point of memorizing complicated stepping patterns. And even if I was, do you think I need to go through such complicated mating rituals to impress? Please. I’m Fox Van Allen.

That said, I was a bit distressed to learn about the [hide]new tier 13 bonuses[/hide] and what they mean for shadow priests. Apparently, Blizzard wants us shadow priests to learn how to dance to maximize our DPS for the next raiding tier. No, seriously.[hide]Continue reading Spiritual Guidance: Shadow priest tier 13[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Priest[/hide], [hide](Priest) Spiritual Guidance[/hide][hide]Spiritual Guidance: Shadow priest tier 13[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Wed, 28 Sep 2011 17:00:00 EST.
