Addon Spotlight: Raiding essentials for healers

Each week, WoW Insider’s [hide]Mathew McCurley[/hide] brings you a fresh look at [hide]reader-submitted UIs[/hide] as well as [hide]Addon Spotlight[/hide], which focuses on the backbone of the WoW gameplay experience: the user interface. Everything from bags to bars, buttons to DPS meters and beyond — your addons folder will never be the same.

As we get [hide]Raid Finder[/hide] clarifications and new details, the excitement ramps up for this brand new feature coming in [hide]patch 4.3[/hide]. Raiders and non-raiders alike are clamoring for new ways to experience the high-end, endgame content. Since we also now know the role makeup for the Raid Finder, healers will be in demand as each Raid Finder group will be made up of six healers.

Healing is one of the most stressful jobs in World of Warcraft right now. The logistics for healing have changed dramatically since the Wrath of the Lich King days with a new emphasis on smart healing versus throughput. What that means is you have limited resources and need to make sure you’re using them correctly. Healing is probably the most complicated role out there right now, if only because healers have a lot of responsibility. In the Raid Finder, encounter difficulties will be easier than we’ve seen before, but the fact is that players will still need their health bars above zero in order to beat a fight.

Healer addons can be a divisive topic, so I’m going to stick with the basics for healers in raids. Your own mileage may vary, and you’re going to want to try out different setups in order to see what works for you. On the whole, people agree that having some addons to help with healing makes the job that much smoother.[hide]Continue reading Addon Spotlight: Raiding essentials for healers[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Add-Ons[/hide], [hide]AddOn Spotlight[/hide][hide]Addon Spotlight: Raiding essentials for healers[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Thu, 06 Oct 2011 19:00:00 EST. Hunter tier 13 armor set and retrospective revealed

Blizzard has just officially revealed the [hide]hunter tier 13 armor set[/hide], and as expected, it does in fact have a dragon motif. Blizzard’s continuing its tradition of making hunter sets based off of monsters the hunter might have reasonably been hunting during the patch or expansion in which the set appears. Dragons, of course, are the big thing that comes to mind when one hunts Deathwing, but in order to differentiate the set from tier 2’s [hide]Dragonstalker[/hide] set, Blizzard went with a skeletal look this time around. I have to admit, I’m still thinking I’ll transmogrify to some [hide]Gronnstalker[/hide] or [hide]Alliance PVP armor[/hide] for my hunter, but judge for yourself.

Check out our gallery below for images from the hunter tier armor retrospective.

Цены за использование Хранилища Бездны снижены в 10 раз

Цены за использование Хранилища Бездны из патча 4.3 снизят в 10 раз, такое решение [hide]приняли[/hide] разработчики MMORPG World of Warcraft из компании Blizzard Entertainment. Вместо 1 000 золота за разблокирование функции и 100 золота за размещение и изымание каждого предмета запланированы следующие цены:

— разблокирование – 100;

— размещение предмета – 25;

Breakfast Topic: Did you accomplish your Brewfest goals?

[hide]Brewfest[/hide] 2011 has finally come to a close. We all had some laughs, threw a lot of mugs at Dwarves, and spent a little too much time in Blackrock Depths. So many memories, so many alcohol-fueled regrets.

From farming i365 trinkets to hoping against hope for one of the two special [hide]holiday mounts[/hide], there was certainly a lot to do during this in-game holiday. (Did you know that 99% of the Brewfest mounts go to 1% of the population? #occupythegrimguzzler) But what about you? How did you spend your time during Brewfest? Did you accomplish all your goals? Or are you bitter over the fourth consecutive year of battling [hide]Coren Direbrew[/hide] with nothing to show for it?

Working on achievements? [hide]The Overachiever[/hide] is here to help! Count on us for advice on Azeroth’s holidays and special events, including [hide]new achievements[/hide], how to get [hide]310% flight speed with achievement mounts[/hide], and Cataclysm [hide]reputation factions and achievements[/hide].

The OverAchiever: Littlest Pet Shop

[hide][/hide]
Every Thursday, [hide]The Overachiever[/hide] shows you how to work toward those sweet achievement points. This week, the bear wants her balloon.

The [hide]Littlest Pet Shop[/hide] option was the [hide]clear favorite[/hide] among the choices given in a recent OverAchiever. While we’ve previously run [hide]a guide to Lil’ Game Hunter[/hide] (the [hide]75-pet achievement[/hide]), we haven’t otherwise revisited the topic of noncombat pets in … wow, more than two years. Suffice it to say that a lot’s changed since then. For one, we get balloons now, which is Blizzard’s most inspired addition to the stable of in-game pets and something that nearly caused me to wet myself when I first zoned into a heroic with an undead warrior tank running around with a balloon. The sheer incongruity of the game’s skulls-a-plenty armor sets combined with a happy little balloon is still something that alternately horrifies and amuses me.

When you stop to think about it, there’s something a little twisted in going about the daily WoW routine of mass slaughter and mayhem with a balloon bobbing alongside you, but what the hell. Show me another MMORPG where you can have a balloon and annihilate existential threats to the universe. You can’t accuse Blizzard of not covering the bases.

If you’re a hardcore pet collector, I could probably condense this entire guide down to «bookmark [hide]WarcraftPets.com[/hide] and just keep consulting it,» but I suspect we can make this column a wee bit more helpful than that. Even if you’re not a pet collector, there’s one quested pet in here that I highly advise you not to miss.[hide]Continue reading The OverAchiever: Littlest Pet Shop[/hide]Filed under: [hide]Achievements[/hide], [hide]The Overachiever[/hide][hide]The OverAchiever: Littlest Pet Shop[/hide] originally appeared on [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] on Thu, 06 Oct 2011 09:00:00 EST.
